I enjoy working with individuals and couples with a wide variety of concerns including trauma and stressor-related difficulties, impacts of discrimination, emotion dysregulation, depression, anxiety, panic, self-esteem, OCD, adjustment, relationship concerns, as well as various other life challenges.

I deeply believe in delivering the highest quality of care possible for my clients. While I utilize evidence-based therapies, it is not a “one-size fits all” experience. I prioritize customizing therapy to each individual so that it can best match their goals.

Therapy will begin with one to three sessions focused on getting to know you, learning about your unique history, current experiences, and goals for therapy. Dr. LeMaire will ask questions to guide the discussion and build a safe, collaborative space to work together. Next, you will discuss your priorties and goals for therapy. Although it is understanable and encouraged to bring up recent stressors and topics in therapy, Dr. LeMaire will also help you to make consistent progress toward your goals. As a team, goals will be assessed over time. Many clients also request to build and learn skills to help them meet their goals, whether that be to improve their communication and relationships, reduce stress, heal from past trauma, treat themselves more kindly, or any other goal.

Some clients meet their goals within a very short time (perhaps 6-8 sessions) and others are looking for longer-term therapy (six months or more). Whether you have one or two or many goals for therapy, you are welcome to reach out!

Both in-person and telehealth sessions are available. In person sessions are offered at the 4043 N Ravenswood Ave location. Telehealth sessions are offered via Simple Practice, a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Dr. LeMaire can see clients who are located in Illinois as well as any of the covered PsyPact states.

COUPLE’S THERAPY

I enjoy working with couples in improving and deepening their relationships. Sometimes couples only consider therapy when they are on the brink of ending the relationship. While couple’s therapy can certainly appropriate at that time, it can also be very helpful to seek couple’s therapy to work through challenges before they become threatening to the relationship or just when you want to grow together.

Couple’s therapy can be very useful to help work through a recurring conflict, improve communication, prepare for a big transition (living together, marriage, having children, illnesses, personal changes, etc.), or to learn new skills together. Whether you are feeling like you need big changes, looking to work on one or two key issues, or simply wanting to grow even closer, you are welcome to contact me!

GROUP THERAPY

Dr. LeMaire offers therapy skills groups, typically during the fall, late winter, and spring. Groups have included focused topics including an emotion regulation skills course, building self-compassion, and healing from interpersonal betrayal trauma. If you are interested in those topics or others feel free to reach out and you will get an email when the next group is scheduled.

  • Kelly supervised me during my postdoc year. Not only is she the most incredible, supportive, kind, and smart supervisor I've ever had, but she is also truly an expert in evidence based practices. She is a wonderful therapist and person!

Sydney Rinehart, Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW

  • The quality and rigor of the clinical training I received in her clinic far surpassed any course or supervisory experience I had to date. Dr. LeMaire was devoted to ensuring that my clinical caseload and training under her supervision matched my goals for the year and for my long-term career. She was relentlessly encouraging to me while continually providing feedback that I am convinced will forever shape my identity as a clinician. Her clinical intuition is astonishing, and with each student clinician she perfectly balances providing support and direct advice with challenging us to grow in our clinical competencies.

Lisa Hamrick, PhD University of South Carolina

  • I think what is truly amazing about Kelly’s mentorship style, clinical and otherwise, is the way in which she helps trainees get in touch with their own values and styles, rather than prescribing one. She truly embodies her motto of amplifying others’ voices.”

    Molly Maloney, PhD Brown University
